At least one dead after crash shuts down major Ballantyne road – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE — At least one person died after a serious crash shut down a major road in Ballantyne early Friday morning.

A Channel 9 crew arrived at Ardrey Kell Road near Blakeney Shopping Center 4:20 a.m., between Community House Road and Rea Road.

Our crew saw a sheet covering a body at the scene and has asked police and Mecklenburg EMS for more information.

Police shut down Ardrey Kell Road while they investigated.

There was no information yet on how the crash happened and how many cars were involved. Police did not say if anyone else was hurt or if anyone else will be charged in the crash.
